The Dallas Cowboys are missing a few key contributors this week amid preparations for a road game against Arizona but they’re also returning several players as well.

The biggest news of the day for the Cowboys was starting cornerback Trevon Diggs suffering a season-ending ACL tear in his left knee. Diggs was spotted on crutches and an MRI confirmed the damage.

Center Tyler Biadasz also popped up on the report as a limited participant on Thursday due to a hamstring.

Safety Jayron Kearse missed a second day of practice due to an illness on Thursday, however, head coach Mike McCarthy shared that the DB has still been in the building. Barring continued illness, Kearse is unlikely to miss the game against the Cardinals.

In Week 2, the safety notched his first interception of the year. He’s up to nine tackles as well through two games.

Right guard Zack Martin also missed another day of practice due to the ankle injury he suffered on Sunday against the Jets. The veteran worked with the rehab group instead. Although he’s missing practice, Martin assured reporters on Monday that he “feels good.”

Dallas has notably been without both left guard Tyler Smith and safety Donovan Wilson in Weeks 1 and 2, and veteran wideout Brandin Cooks in Week 2. Heading into Friday things are trending in the right direction for all three to suit up and play.

Though Smith, Wilson and Cooks are still on the injury report, all three practiced in full on Thursday. Getting back Smith would be a huge lift for the Cowboys, coming off a stellar rookie season.

Cowboys enter Cardinals matchup as double-digit favorites

The Cowboys, at 2-0, head to Arizona as double-digit favorites against the 0-2 Cardinals this weekend. Las Vegas oddsmakers have the Cowboys +12.5 versus the Cards led by backup QB Joshua Dobbs with an over/under of 42.5 points.

It’s not just Vegas that likes Dallas over Arizona. The ESPN matchup predictor gives the Cardinals just an 11.8% chance of upsetting the undefeated Cowboys, led by edge rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons had what might end up being one of his best games of the season against the Jets last week. He posted two sacks, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a recovery. The defense is up to seven takeaways and 10 sacks through two games, which is a huge reason why the Cowboys are favored so heavily on Sunday.
