Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers Wild Card: Thursday injury report
Ahead of this weekend’s Wild Card round, the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are trying to get injured players healthy to help them move on to the next stage. Unfortunately for Green Bay, one of their star defenders suffered an injury in practice this week.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander sprained his ankle on Wednesday and did not practice Thursday after a “freak deal,” according to Matt LeFleur. Alexander stepped on a teammate’s foot and rolled his ankle, but he’s still day-to-day for the matchup against Dallas. The corner made his return last after a suspension in Week 17 for anointing himself a team captain and nearly botching the pregame coin toss in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.
The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers have both released their Thursday injury reports ahead of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card contest. Final inactives lists will come out with an hour and a half to go before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at AT&T Stadium.

Cowboys ‘hopeful’ on Stephon Gilmore, Tyler Smith
The Cowboys are still working on clearing cornerback Stephon Gilmore and left guard Tyler Smith for gameday this week. Gilmore suffered a shoulder injury against the Commanders and is planning to play with a brace on his shoulder – if he can go at all. The veteran told reporters on Sunday that he doesn’t intend to miss the first playoff game and he practiced in limited fashion on Thursday.
Meanwhile, after missing Week 18 due to his torn plantar fascia in his foot, Tyler Smith also worked in limited fashion at practice. Mike McCarthy told reporters on Thursday, “We feel good about where he is.” The second-year player earned a first-team All-Pro nod this week, as did veteran right guard Zack Martin.
