CeeDee Lamb was put into an interesting position this season, needing to step up as the No. 1 wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. Amari Cooper was dealt out of the organization, while Michael Gallup is still coming back from an ACL injury. He’s proving his ability on Monday, scoring an incredible touchdown.

Dallas was backed up deep in their own territory, tied with the Giants. Quarterback Cooper Rush led an incredible drive down the field, capping it off in impressive fashion. Throwing a first down fade to Lamb, the wide receiver came down with a one-handed touchdown catch in the back of the end zone.

With the score, the Cowboys took their first lead since the first quarter. A made extra point by kicker Brett Maher gave Lamb and company a touchdown advantage, 20-13.

Until the touchdown drive, Lamb was having a tough game. Funny enough, he was being criticized for his hands during the first half. Having two crucial drops when the Cowboys were previously driving, pulling off a one-hander should silence those doubts for some time.

Lamb will also be hoping his score ends up being the difference in the game. Dallas would be 2-0 without Dak Prescott playing if the result holds, something nobody thought would be possible.

More on CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys

When Lamb fell to Dallas in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, it was a shock for everyone involved — including the franchise itself. They quickly took the Oklahoma product, bringing him back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to begin his professional career.

Lamb has been wildly successful in his No. 2, and even No. 3, role within the offense since being drafted. But now, there’s a different challenge up against the wide receiver. Against New York, he’s living up to it.
