Cowboys' 20-17 win over Chargers 'felt like a home game' in LA
When the Los Angeles Chargers pictured their first home game with fans at SoFi Stadium, images of a sea of powder blue and yellow probably came to mind. However, it was anything but when the Dallas Cowboys came to town yesterday.
One star on the Cowboys even said that it felt like he was playing at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
“We felt it. We heard it. And we loved it,” wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said after the Cowboys’ victory via USA Today. “Cowboys Nation definitely came out. Felt like a home game.”
Yesterday, Cowboys fans took over the Chargers’ home. Even when the Chargers offense was threatening to score, chants of “DEFENSE!” echoed throughout the stadium.
While his clock management won’t endear himself to Dallas fans, head coach Mike McCarthy spoke about how awesome it was to witness.
“It’s awesome,” McCarthy said. “When we pulled in here last night coming from the airport, there was a truck with three or four huge Cowboys flags hanging out the back. You love to see that. Our fans are phenomenal and it definitely helps the players.
“It definitely felt in a lot of ways like a home game.”
It’s well known that Cowboys fans travel well. After starting their season with consecutive road matchups, they won’t have to travel far for their next three games — Dallas gets to host the Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers and New York Giants.

“We really missed that last year.”
Last season when Dallas traveled to SoFi Stadium, they took on the Los Angeles Rams in-front of an empty stadium. While the Cowboys lost that game by a field goal, the fans willed on Dallas to defeat the Rams’ co-tenants by three this season.
After missing Cowboy Nation in their entirety in 2020, defensive back Trevon Diggs spoke about the difference they made.
“We really missed that last year,” said Diggs, who finished with his second straight game with an interception. “We needed them, a lot.”
Moreover, the aforementioned Lamb agreed with his teammate — what a difference a year makes.
“The exact same stadium, just a big difference,” Lamb said. “You could feel it, the energy on the different levels of the game.
“Love the fans.”
If the Dallas Cowboys can go on a winning streak at home, the fans will really love their team. Going back home to AT&T Stadium following an electrifying victory, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys can’t squander their momentum.
