Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks was taken to the locker room with a little over seven minutes to go in the third quarter Sunday against the Browns. It was unclear at time the nature of his injury or why he went to the locker room.

Cooks had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown prior to his exit. The Cowboys were leading Cleveland by a score of 27-10 at the time.

The receiver returned to the sidelines a few moments later and it was revealed on the broadcast that he was dehydrated. It still remains to be seen whether he will re-enter the game or if Dallas will opt to rest him with the game seemingly in hand.

This is the 11th NFL season for Cooks, who is set to turn 31 later this month. He played his first season with the Cowboys in 2023 to record 54 catches for 657 yards and eight touchdowns.

At least the good news for the Cowboys seems to be that Brandin Cooks is not seriously injured. The receiver brings a veteran presence that is invaluable to the team and also provides a solid second option behind CeeDee Lamb.

Dallas will move on to face the Saints next week and, assuming it holds on here, will enter that matchup 1-0.

Skip Bayless rips Jerry Jones over new Dak Prescott contract

There are a lot of happy folks in the Dallas Cowboys building now that quarterback Dak Prescott is under contract beyond the 2024 season. On the outside, however, some aren’t so pleased.

That includes Skip Bayless, who has often been critical of Prescott’s play over the years. After Prescott and the Cowboys agreed to terms on a four-year, $240 million deal Sunday, Bayless ripped team owner Jerry Jones for making the 31-year-old the highest-paid player in NFL history.

“Jerry Jones just made a QB who has stunk in 3 straight playoff losses – who is 2-5 in playoff games – the highest paid player in NFL history,” Bayless wrote on X. “This is why Jerry’s Dallas Cowboys have not even made it to an NFC Championship game in going on 30 years. Now I’m … STUCK WITH DAK.”
