Dalvin Cook addresses possibility of signing with Dallas Cowboys
Dalvin Cook is in unknown territory entering the 2023 NFL season. Although training camp is underway, the star running back still hasn’t signed with a team yet. A few organizations are in the mix, and Cook was willing to talk about the possibility of teaming up with Tony Pollard and the Dallas Cowboys.
Cook appeared on ESPN’s NFL Live on Saturday to talk about his current situation. He said he’s looking for the “right fit,” and wants to compete for a championship immediately.
Upon hearing those comments, ESPN’s Louis Riddick told Cook that he believes Dallas would be a good fit, alongside Pollard in the backfield. Are the Cowboys a possibility?
“Dallas has been right there. Just need to turn that page the last few years,” Cook said. “Like you said, TP is a great running back, just partnering up with a great running back, a great running mate would be good.
“So, hey, I don’t know.”
Cook is visiting the New York Jets, which could be a huge addition with Aaron Rodgers now at quarterback. But the running back didn’t tip his hand about a potential landing spot.
Cook spent the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. He earned four trips to the Pro Bowl during that stretch in the Twin Cities. The team released the running back earlier this offseason.

Dalvin Cook says no other visits scheduled
As the NFL season approaches, Cook continues his search for a new team. But he says he doesn’t have any further visits planned at this time.
“Not at this moment. Right now, we’re just taking it one step at a time. This visit right here was kind of last minute,” Cook said. “My agent called me and got me out here right away to come see the team. It’s been kind of night-and-day. Every day I wake up to something new. I guess that’s part of the process.”
Before closing out the segment on ESPN, Cook was asked if there was a specific team he hoped to play for next season. Or, if there were a handful of teams he was considering more seriously. While there are some favorites, the running back remained pretty tight-lipped.
“I’ve got some teams on my mind. I won’t say them right now, but like, I think that would make the process more exciting, but this thing gonna get rolling real soon.”
