Dalvin Cook is a believer in Justin Jefferson. Prior to the wide receiver’s second season in the NFL, Cook simply stated that the league should stop doubting his teammate.

“I don’t know why people are still doubting him,” said Cook, via CBS Sports HQ. “I think that just adds fuel to the fire with him.

“A young guy came into the league, day one acting like he’s a vet. Being drafted in the first round, you either could accept it, or it could be your worst nightmare. With him, he accepted everything that came with it.”

Last season, Jefferson set the league on fire as a rookie. He ended his campaign with 1,400 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns on 88 receptions. Still, he was overlooked for the 2020 NFL Rookie of the Year Award, instead going to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

According to Cook, Jefferson enters his sophomore season with a chip on his shoulder. The former Florida State Seminoles running back is expecting greatness once again from the former LSU Tigers wide receiver.

“This year, it’s the same way. People still doubting him, but he still shows up to work hard everyday,” said Cook. “Every damn practice he works.

“He’s just trying to be the best version. Look for him to be real special this year, and be more comfortable in the offense. He was still a rookie, he was still searching, so he’s gonna be more comfortable.”

Evidently, Cook expects an even bigger season from Jefferson. He brings up fantastic points about how the wide receiver should be more comfortable in the offense, as he didn’t have to learn everything on the fly through video conferencing this summer.

Dalvin Cook has a front row seat to watch Justin Jefferson’s ascent to the league’s elite. In 2021, the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver could get there, fueled by doubt.

Justin Jefferson wants his shot at Jalen Ramsey

Furthermore, Jefferson isn’t shying away from any opportunities to prove his mettle. The

Minnesota Vikings receiver has his Week 16 matchup with cornerback Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams circled on his calendar.

The star receiver stated on the All Things Covered podcast that Ramsey is the player he’s most excited to face one-on-one in the NFL. Jefferson did not play against the Rams in his rookie season.

When asked who he wanted to battle against the most, Jefferson replied with no hesitation that Ramsey was the guy.

“Jalen Ramsey. I’m waiting… that game is circled.”

The Vikings won’t meet the Rams until December, but the game scheduled for Dec. 26th could end up being Jefferson’s late Christmas present. If he can make Dalvin Cook’s fellow former Seminole look silly, it will be hard to deny Jefferson’s skill any longer.
