Dalvin Cook sparks rumors with cryptic Miami Dolphins Instagram story
Dalvin Cook could already be hinting at his next move.
After it came out that the four-time Pro Bowl running back is parting ways with the Minnesota Vikings, several teams immediately surfaced as rumored to be interested in Cook’s services — and the Miami Dolphins were one of those teams.
After the news broke, Cook took to instagram to post a picture on his story of him inside Hard Rock Stadium — the home of the Miami Dolphins.
Whether or not Cook meant anything by it will never come to light, but it’s no secret that the Dolphins have been interested in the star tailback for the past year now. He’s from there, he trains there in the offseason — it almost makes too much sense.
Several days before Cook was cut by the Vikings, the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reported that there is interest on both sides and that it is, “certainly a real possibility,” for him to end up in Miami after he officially hits free agency.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that the Vikings will try one last time on Thursday to trade Cook before they likely release him on Friday for cap space. That’s not because there is a lack of suitors, but rather because the Vikings don’t feel like they’re getting the best deal. The Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos have been two team that have expected interest in Cook, but the Dolphins seem to be far in first place to acquire his services.

If Cook does end up signing with the Dolphins, he’ll join a running back room featuring Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., Devon Achane and Myles Gaskin. Mostert and Wilson Jr. combined for 1,283 rushing yards last season, but neither were able to surpass the 1,000-yard mark individually. No other returner rushed for more than 100 yards last season, so Cook would be a more-than welcome addition to the Miami rushing attack.
Before Cook spent six seasons in Minnesota, the former Florida State standout was selected by the Vikings in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Since then, he’s been a star in Minnesota out of the backfield.
Since joining the franchise, Cook has earned four Pro Bowl appearances. He’s rushed for 5,993 yards with 47 touchdowns on the ground, adding 1,794 receiving yards and five scores on 221 catches. Cook still rushed for over 1,000 last season and reached the end zone 10 total times for Minnesota. It marked the fourth-straight year in which he hit the rushing milestone.
