After inadvertently being involved in the altercation that sent Tua Tagovailoa to the locker room with a scary head injury, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin sent the Miami Dolphins quarterback some love on social media.

Tagovailoa elected not to slide after picking up a first down in the second half of the Dolphins’ loss to the Bills, colliding with Hamlin in a car-crash like collision. After all he’s been through, Hamlin was uneasy about the situation as a whole, and wanted to let the Miami star know he’s thinking of him after Tagovailoa’s latest concussion.

“My love and prayers with @Tua fasho,” the Bills defensive back posted on X. “Sending you strength and healing for a speedy recovery. (Prayer hands) much love broski.”

Those are certainly kind words from Hamlin, who obviously knows a thing or two about being the center of attention due to an injury following a nationally-televised game. In addition to the defensive back, Bills quarterback Josh Allen also discussed Tagovailoa’s injury following the clash, wishing him a speedy recovery.

“If you know Tua outside of football, you can’t help but feel for him,” Allen said. “He’s a great football player, but he’s an even greater human being. He’s one of the best humans on the planet, and I got a lot of love for him, and I’m just praying for him and his family and hoping everything’s okay.

“It’s tough, man, this game of football that we play. It’s got its highs and it’s got its lows, and that’s definitely one of the lows.”

Moreover, Tagovailoa suffered the concussion in the third quarter when he scrambled on a fourth-and-four situation and collided with Hamlin. After momentarily remaining down on the field, Tagovailoa stood and walked off the field on his own power.

He was immediately taken back to the locker room and ruled out for the game with a concussion. Although Tagovailoa didn’t miss any games in the 2023 campaign, the former Alabama standout suffered two known concussions in the 2022 season.

This concussion is Tagovailoa’s third of his NFL career. It was a slow night for Tagovailoa before he suffered the injury. He finished the game with 145 passing yards and a touchdown while throwing three interceptions.

Tagovailoa has only thrown three interceptions in a single game two other times in his NFL career. The Dolphins ultimately failed to score on their offensive drive after Tagovailoa left the game with quarterback Skylar Thompson behind center, and they lost their first game of the season.
