As Super Bowl LIX approaches, folks are looking back on the history of the best commercials, and Danica Patrick makes the list. NASCAR and NFL fans will remember the iconic GoDaddy shower commercial.

Danica Patrick wasn’t just a star on the track, she was a star off the track as well. Using a bit of sex appeal and a lot of innuendo, GoDaddy put out one of the most interesting commercials of the 2000s.

The commercial goes as follows, three college-aged guys are huddled around a computer. One of them talks about having his new domain name and website through the Go Daddy service and then, enter Danica.

For those wanting to relive their youth or see what they missed out on all those years ago, check out the video below.

There were a few of these Go Daddy commercials. Leaning heavily on the same themes as the video above, these commercials were pretty popular back in the day. A different era of Super Bowl commercials where you didn’t see it two weeks before the big game.

Now as a podcast and F1 TV personality, Danica Patrick stays busy. She is a bit more controversial than she was in her driving days, one could argue. Not for risque TV commercials, though. In recent years, Patrick has leaned more into politics. There are those who like it and those who don’t, to each their own.

Ahead of the game between the Chiefs and Eagles, NFL fans will eagerly await this year’s batch of commercials. Will we be talking about any of this year’s commercials 16 years from now?

Danica Patrick Super Bowl commercial shows where NASCAR used to be

Speaking of Danica Patrick and her Super Bowl commercial, when was the last time we saw a NASCAR driver in one of these commercials? When was the last time a driver received this kind of marketing and promo from a sponsor?

Now, the good news is, Ross Chastain will be in a commercial this year. Busch Light is airing an ad featuring the Melon Man in 11 markets nationwide. That will be a major deal and a great thing for NASCAR.

Still, watching the Patrick ad is a reminder of where NASCAR has gone and where it once was. Even in 2009, a driver like Danica was getting major advertising promotions. Now we are happy to have an ad in 11 different markets.

The NASCAR world is starting to focus on marketing and promotion more now. Drivers are being rewarded for getting out there and promoting the sport. Hopefully, we see a return of those classic NASCAR driver commercials that we used to see all the time.
