Daniel Suárez wins pole award ahead of Verizon 200 at the Brickyard
Trackhouse Racing will start on the pole, but it is Daniel Suárez, not Shane van Gisbergen that will lead the Verizon 200 field to green. Suárez was excellent in the NASCAR practice and qualifying sessions this weekend. It was a big moment for the 99 team as they make the push toward the NASCAR Playoffs.
Daniel Suárez is one of those bubble drivers that would love to win a race. Win and you get a ticket to the postseason. This points battle is getting a little too intense and the way to solve that is to get a checkered flag.
With all of the road course ringers and the international flare, it was the full-time driver from Mexico that was fastest in qualifying.
Looking at the top-10 in this race, there are plenty of bubble drivers starting near the front n Sunday. Chase Elliott, Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman, and Ty Gibbs were all in the final round of qualifying.

Trackhouse Racing was very excited about this weekend for a number of reasons. So, now they have to execute. Suárez is in a great position to make something exciting happen. A win this weekend solves everything.

Daniel Suárez will lead the Verizon 200 field to green
After winning at Sonoma last season, it has been a long and hard road for Daniel Suárez as far as wins are concerned. In the Cup Series, checkered flags are far and few between for most drivers. With the pole secured and a road course race ahead of him, Suárez could be on his way to another win.
While Ross Chastain didn’t make the final qualifying round, Trackhouse showed speed. Both SVG and Suárez were quick and that should give all of those teams confidence moving forward to Sunday.
The Verizon 200 at the Brickyard has not produced the most exciting racing ever. However, with these bubble drivers up front and all of the road course ringers in the field, it feels like we could see a very interesting race.
Daniel Suárez last won a pole award back in 2019. Before that, he earned his first career pole at Pocono after Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch were both disqualified after the qualifying rounds. Will Suárez use this pole award to earn his way to victory lane and the playoffs?
