Danny Kanell endorses Shedeur Sanders as top QB in 2025 Draft after Week 8
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been putting up exceptional numbers in the 2024 college football season. And he’s got the Buffaloes rolling, they currently sit at 5-2 overall. Sanders has completed 72.2% of his passes for 2,268 passing yards, while tossing in 19 touchdowns with six interceptions. Many people across the country have already crowned the Colorado signal-caller as the top QB prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class.
Danny Kanell is the latest to join that sentiment, tabbing Sanders as the top quarterback that’s going to be picked in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“The way the season is unfolding Shedeur Sanders is going to be the top quarterback taken. And should be,” Kanell tweeted from his account on Sunday morning.
In Colorado’s 34-7 beatdown of Arizona on Saturday, he completed 69.7% of his passes for 250 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Intel on potential head coaching moves
In his team’s close loss to Kansas State, Sanders continued to put up impressive numbers for Colorado. He threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns to lead the charge in the 21-28 defeat.
Sanders enters Week 9 ranked No. 6 in the nation with 324.0 passing yards per game and is making a strong case as one of the top players in the NFL Draft. His accuracy is a big reason why there’s so much buzz about his game considering he’s completing 72.2% of his passes this year.
Chris Klieman thinks Shedeur Sanders will be the top QB selected
Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman gave Shedeur Sanders plenty of praise before the Wildcats faced Colorado.
“There’s a lot of concerns that we have” Klieman said. “Obviously go to the offensive side. And I think Sanders will be the first quarterback picked off the board. He should be. In the film that I’ve seen of a lot of the top guys, I think he’s an excellent thrower. You can’t really confuse him. I’ve seen a lot of different teams try to manipulate coverage in disguise, and he does a really good job pre snap to post snap, and he can make all the throws, and has a lot of guys to throw the football to.”
