DaRon Bland injury update: Jerry Jones reveals crucial update on potential return for Cowboys CB
The struggling Dallas Cowboys could soon be getting back an important piece on their defense. Star cornerback DaRon Bland could be set to make his season debut this Sunday when Dallas faces the Washington Commanders.
DaRon Bland has been dealing with a foot injury and has yet to play in a game this season. However, Jerry Jones said Thursday that he is on track to play this weekend.
DaRon Bland will play against the Commanders “unless something pops its head up in the next couple of days,” Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan, per Jon Machota.
Bland is one of the top cornerbacks in all of football when healthy. He was named first-team All-Pro in 2023 after leading the NFL with nine interceptions. The former fifth-round pick out of Fresno State had 14 interceptions across his first two years in the NFL.
The 3-7 Cowboys, who have dropped five straight games, could certainly use DaRon Bland. The third-year pro was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

CeeDee Lamb injury update: Cowboys WR dealing with new issue
While the Cowboys could be getting DaRon Bland back on Sunday, that doesn’t mean that the team is healthy. Quarterback Dak Prescott is already out for the year, and star receiver CeeDee Lamb is banged up, too.
Lamb is dealing with a foot issue and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.
Lamb has hauled in 67 catches for 774 receiving yards and four touchdowns. In the Cowboys’ 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans, he hauled in eight catches for 93 receiving yards on 12 targets.
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks had a knee issue he was dealing with. He was a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has been dealing with a concussion. He did not practice at all on Wednesday. In nine games this season, he’s hauled in 43 catches for 369 receiving yards.
