DaRon Bland, Trevon Diggs injury updates: Dallas Cowboys reveal status of DBs on Wednesday report
The Dallas Cowboys got some good news about their secondary on Wednesday. Both DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs were listed as full participants on the injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
For Bland, it was a big step toward potentially playing in Sunday’s game, which would mark his season debut. He hasn’t practiced yet this year after dealing with a foot injury, but the optimism continues to grow about his chances to play against Detroit.
As for Diggs, he popped up on the injury report last week ahead of Sunday Night Football with an ankle injury, but was able to suit up against the Steelers. He was also a full participant on Wednesday, which bodes well for his chances of once again taking the field in Week 6.
However, another key defender once again didn’t practice on Wednesday. Micah Parsons sat out while working his way back from a high ankle sprain. He missed last week’s matchup, as well, after suffering the injury in Week 4.
The Cowboys and Lions will square off Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. Here are the Wednesday injury reports for both teams.

Bland’s full participation in Wednesday’s practice came one day after Stephen Jones spoke about his chances of playing against Detroit. While he couldn’t rule out a setback, it appears the star cornerback is on track to finally make his debut.
“I think DaRon Bland has a real chance,” Jones said. “I don’t know if he’ll play the whole game but I think he’s ready to start mixing it up. Short of a real setback, DaRon should be ready to dress and help us on the defensive side of the ball and the secondary.”
Bland is coming off of a breakout season in 2023 during which he led the league with nine interceptions, including five returned for a touchdown — an NFL record. He added 15 passes defended to earn his first career Pro Bowl appearance and was named first team All-Pro.
