Darrelle Revis' mom to present him for the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Darrelle Revis will turn to his top supporter to introduce him before he accepts the gold jacket as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Revis asked his mother, Diana Askew, to stand with him as he receives the greatest career honor. According to the Hall of Fame, Revis wanted his mother there because her influence “steered him onto a path of success from an early age. Through all the successes and hardships, her support continues wholeheartedly every day.”
The Pro Football Hall of Fame will enshrine the class of 2023 on Aug. 5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. Two days before the ceremony, the NFL kicks off its preseason with a game between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.
Darrelle Revis isn’t the only inductee to select a family member for their official introduction. Here’s the entire class and who will present them:

Jets made Darrelle Revis first cornerback selected in 2007
The Jets selected Darrelle Revis with the 14th pick of the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. And his mother helped his career almost immediately. Revis decided to sit out training camp until he could negotiate a better deal with the Jets. But his mother came to training camp and Revis ended his holdout at 21 days.
He defined shut down corner. And he’d carve out Revis Island for each game, knowing that no receiver would catch a ball in his territory. Revis spent 11 seasons in the NFL, eight of them with the Jets. He earned spots in seven Pro Bowls. And he won a Super Bowl playing for the Patriots.
