Davante Adams injury: Jets WR exits game, heads to locker room for evaluation vs. Texans
In the New York Jets’ showdown against the Houston Texans on Thursday, Jets wide receiver Davante Adams left the game after falling on his head on the sideline. According to the broadcast, the Jets’ medical staff took Adams back to the locker room and he is being evaluated for a concussion.
The injury occurred when Adams caught a go route up the left sideline and Texans safety Eric Murray took out his legs, forcing Adams to flip in the air and land head-first. Before leaving the game, Adams had six catches for 54 yards.
This game is only Adams’ third with the Jets after being traded by the Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers are 0-2 since acquiring Adams. In his first two appearances with the team, the veteran wide receiver amassed seven catches for 84 yards.
To make the trade work, Adams reportedly agreed to a reworked contract with the Jets. The new contract gave the franchise more salary cap flexibility and the two sides will talk about their future after this season.
Adams’ salary cap hit drops to $3.21 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, and the Jets added two voidable years to the contract. This change gave both sides the ability to work out a potential future deal and minimized the cap hit New York took after making the trade.
The Jets traded a conditional third-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for Adams, who requested a move earlier this month. Now, the Jets must attempt to win their first game since acquiring Adams, without the star wideout in the game.

NFL insider provides injury update on Puka Nacua
Davante Adams isn’t the only standout NFL wide receiver who is dealing with injury. On Thursday, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua left practice early due to a knee injury. Later that day, ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided an update on Nacua’s condition.
“Puka Nacua’s knee injury is not believed to be serious, per sources,” Schefter wrote on X. “His status on Sunday’s game at Seattle still is to be determined, but it does not appear to be any type of significant injury.”
Rams fans can collectively take a sigh of relief. Nacua returned to the field last week for the first time since suffering a knee injury in the Rams’ loss against the Detroit Lions.
His comeback game was nothing short of spectacular. Nacua erupted for seven catches and 106 yards on nine targets, boosting the Rams to a 30-20 win over the Vikings. With the win, the Rams improved to 3-4 on the season.
