Davante Adams injury update: Adam Schefter reveals WR's status for Jets debut vs. Steelers
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Davante Adams is expected to return to the field Sunday night, coming back from his hamstring injury.
Adams was just traded to the New York Jets from the Las Vegas Raiders Tuesday. Coming off a loss Monday night to the Buffalo Bills, the Jets will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night.
“And after missing the past three games with an hamstring injury, Adams also is planning to make his Jets’ debut Sunday night vs. the Steelers, per source,” Schefter wrote on Twitter.
In three games with the Raiders this season, Adams had 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown. Over the last two seasons in Vegas, Adams logged 100+ catches each yard, scoring 22 touchdowns and racking up over 2,600 yards.
It’s a steep price to pay for a 31-year-old receiver, yet one the Jets were willing to pay as they sit in organizational disarray. New York fired head coach Robert Saleh last Tuesday, naming defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

The Jets have dropped three games in a row and have scored just 46 points in those contests.
That’s not what New York signed up for when they brought in Aaron Rodgers, the Super Bowl champion and future Pro Football Hall of Famer. Rekindling his connection with Adams could be the missing piece to the operation, or so they hope.
Rodgers and Adams were arguably the league’s best quarterback-receiver duo during their eight-year stint together with the Green Bay Packers (4-2). They connected 622 times for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns and will look to keep it going in New York.
Between Adams, Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and Allen Lazard among others, the Jets look to have everything to take off as an offense. Their first trial will take place on the road in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) on Sunday Night Football.
