Raiders receiver Davante Adams left the practice field Friday with an injury to his right leg. Las Vegas was in the middle of a joint workout with the 49ers.

But after workouts, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said he didn’t think Adams suffered anything “crazy serious.”

“It was just kind of a bang-bang play — totally clean on both sides,” McDaniels told reporters.

Here’s what we know:

Tashan Reed, who covers the Raiders for The Athletic, tweeted that Adams was hurt during 11X11 team drills.

“Took a hit and was down for a while. Needed help to the sideline,” Reed posted.

Vincent Bonsignore, who covers the Raiders for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, said Adams sustained a “pretty big hit.” The receiver then went to the locker room accompanied by an athletic trainer.

The Raiders and 49ers are practicing together this week. On Sunday, both teams will open their exhibition seasons with a game at Allegiant Stadium. Adams wouldn’t be playing much then, anyway, given that preseason openers normally are populated by rookies and other younger players.

San Francisco cornerback Charvarius Ward was responsible for the hit. Trainers placed a sleeve on Adams’ right shin.

Obviously, it would be a huge blow to the Raiders if Adams suffers a significant injury. He’s one of the top receivers in the NFL, earning first-team All Pro for the past three seasons. He’s in his second season with the Raiders after a dominant career with the Packers and catching passes from Aaron Rodgers.

Vegas is retooling its offense behind Jimmy Garoppolo, who the Raiders signed as a free agent from the 49ers. So Garoppolo is throwing against his old defensive teammates in practice this week.

“Those are my brothers,” he told reporters. “I love those guys. We had a good time out there competing.”

Of course, no one wants to see injuries, especially during a preseason practice. No doubt, Garoppolo signed with the Raiders, in part, because of Davante Adams. The receiver caught 100 passes for 14 touchdowns last season.
