It appears that Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers has a new fan and supporter: one of his teammates. Raiders superstar wide receiver Davante Adams recently spoke about the goings-on inside OTAs and took a moment to praise Bowers. He also revealed his nickname for the rookie tight end and explained the nature of it.

“That’s ‘BM,’ man. That’s what I call him: The Businessman,” said Adams.

You can check out Adam’s complete response in the video below.

Las Vegas selected former Georgia Bulldogs superstar tight end Brock Bowers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the No. 13 overall pick. Bowers was also all business on the field for the Bulldogs as he was a key fixture in their back-to-back national championship runs, along with an impressive 13-1 season in 2023. Last year’s Bowers hauled in 56 catches for 714 yards and six touchdowns while dealing with a few nagging injuries.

With another potential elite pass-catching thread on the outside in Bowers, Adams, and the Raiders, we’ll look to handle business on the field this season and turn around the misfortunes of the Las Vegas franchise, which went 8-9 last season and finished second in the division behind Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

Antonio Pierce talks Brock Bowers

Adams wasn’t the only big name in Las Vegas to speak highly of their rookie tight end recently. Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce is very happy the team drafted Bowers. While speaking to reporters during the Raiders’ rookie minicamp over the weekend, Pierce was asked why the team selected Bowers at No. 13 overall.

“You’re talking about probably the most dynamic football player in college football at that tight end position in a long time,” Pierce said. “It’s rare you get a guy like you know that can line up as a slot receiver, see him in the backfield, reverses, catch the ball, but I think more importantly is his toughness. Watching him block in the SEC, watching him get after guys, that’s what impressed me.

“Just a gritty player,” Pierce added, “More importantly a winner and he can help us score points.” Later in the press conference, Pierce talked about him being surprised that Bowers was still on the board when the Raiders were on the clock.
