Davante Adams on playing with Tom Brady with Raiders: 'Hell yes'
Davante Adams still wants to play with Tom Brady, if the latter came out of retirement again. Adams is still on the Raiders, so seeing Brady in Las Vegas would be quite the spectacle.
Right now, second year man Aidan O’Connell is the projected starting quarterback with Gardner Minshew as the backup. Brady does seem tantalizing to Adams though.
While the comment was made in jest, since Brady is ready to begin his broadcasting career with FOX, one can imagine.
“Hell yes,” Adams said when asked if he would take an older Brady, on Club Shay Shay. “When you said Tom Brady … I don’t care. 58, right now. Tom knows how I feel about him. I think I’d be the first person that played with Tom and Aaron (Rodgers). That’d be pretty cool. Yeah, I mean, he’s getting older but I mean, he got to still be able to do it better than, you know, half these dudes in the league.”
Adams has an interesting situation with the Raiders. Still regarded as one of the best receivers in the league, he’s a big part of the offense.
But rumors arose when he talked about possibly playing with Aaron Rodgers again, this time on the Jets. Although it seems like Adams’ comments were taken completely out of context.
So for now, Adams shot down “baseless” trade rumors and is sticking with Las Vegas.
“This is baseless, unfounded speculation and Davante is expected to be with the Raiders as there has been absolutely no trade talk – period,” Adams’ agent said in a statement.

Adams left the Packers for the Raiders in 2022. Before then, he and Rodgers enjoyed a terrific on-field connection.
Adams posted 100-plus receiving seasons in 2018, 20 and 21 with the Packers. His final year in Green Bay, Adams caught 123 passes.
He used that season as leverage to demand a trade. The Packers placed a franchise tag on him, but they then sent him to the Raiders for a first- and second-round pick. Green Bay spent the first-round pick on Quay Walker.
Adams has fared well with the Raiders, at least statistically. He’s caught 203 passes in his two seasons to extend his string of consecutive Pro Bowls to six. But, Las Vegas fired coach Josh McDaniels on Halloween last season, paving the way for Antonio Pierce to take over.
Brady isn’t coming out of retirement this time. So for now, Adams will have to play with the QBs at his disposal.
But who knows? The NFL is a whacky business and he could very well be elsewhere at some point, before it’s all said and done.
