Report: Davante Adams requests trade from Las Vegas Raiders
Davante Adams has requested to be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders as rumors swirl, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. No deal is imminent, according to the report, but Adams informed the franchise he prefers to be traded.
Adams’ future has been a hot topic of conversation since the Raiders defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. A report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal said the former Fresno State star was growing open to the idea of a move, and he told the team of his preference shortly thereafter.
Questions about Adams’ future in Vegas further grew after head coach Antonio Pierce appeared to “like” an Instagram post. It included a screenshot of a post from Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano telling fans not to be surprised if Adams played his last snap with the Raiders.
During an appearance with Kay Adams on FanDuel’s Up and Adams, Davante Adams said he hadn’t spoken with Pierce since the post went viral. Instead, he didn’t want to “stir the pot.”
“I haven’t heard from [Pierce]. I haven’t talked to him,” Adams said. “Don’t really know exactly what that was about. … It’s one of those situations where I just keep my head down and keep doing my thing and let the chips fall where they may. There’s been no communication with anybody from the team since that became a thing. But it’s kind of just like the weekly, ‘What’s up with Tae?’ thing. It’s always some sort of drama. But, at the end of the day, 17 doesn’t create any of it.

“So, people can say what they want, but I’m just chilling and trying to be the model for not stirring the pot and just locking in and doing what I got to do.”
Adams is in his third season with the Raiders after coming over via trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2022. He signed a five-year, $140 million extension with Las Vegas and has three years remaining. He did not suit up against the Browns as he dealt with a hamstring injury.
Through three games this season, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown after an up-and-down 2023 season. He turned in his lowest production since 2019, totaling 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns as the Raiders struggled.
