Las Vegas Raiders (3-5) star receiver Davante Adams had a frustrating night in the 26-14 Week 8 defeat to the Detroit Lions (6-2) Monday.

Adams hauled in just one of his seven targets for 11 yards, although if you watched the game, it’s hard to place any blame on the three-time All-Pro. His frustrations hit a boiling point with just a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, when he beat his man on a stop and go route to get open by a sizable margin. All he needed was a drop in the bucket from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and he’d be running in for six.

That didn’t happen.

Garoppolo missed him by a ton, and the Raiders once again let an opportunity to get back in the game slip away. Adams could no longer hold in his frustrations after the Raiders failed to convert on fourth down, slamming his helmet on the sideline bench and mouthing some expletives to himself.

With the trade deadline approaching at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, it’s fair to wonder if Las Vegas may consider moving its most-prized target in the 30-year-old Adams. Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III is certainly a proponent of Adams being on a different team come this time Tuesday.

“Raiders should do Davante Adams a solid and trade him. He deserves it,” Griffin wrote on X. “He came there to play for his favorite team, they got rid of the QB he came there to play with and he has 1 catch tonight. Don’t subject him to anymore of this dysfunction.”

Raiders, Davante Adams continue slide in loss to Lions

Adams previously made known his dissatisfaction with his role in the offense even after the Raiders got back to .500 two weeks ago. Adams bemoaned at the lack of targets his way, and after Monday’s loss, has been held to under 60 yards in four straight games.

“I’m a human being and I have extremely high standards for myself in this offense,” Adams said. “I’m sure people are thinking, ‘They won the game, why is there an issue?’ I mean, you see why it’s an issue. Y’all should know who I am, know what I’m about at this point… When you’re a player like me, mentally, my benchmark is not wins and losses — it’s greatness.

“So when I go out there, I expect to be able to have that ability to put that on tape and have an influence on the game. That’s my purpose for being here. I’m not here just to hang out; I came here to win and to do it the right way.”
