Davante Adams trade rumors: Adam Schefter names 3 teams lurking if Jets, Saints can't get deal done
Davante Adams is on the verge of being traded, and Adam Schefter believes three additional teams are in the mix. On ESPN’s Get Up, the NFL insider revealed the three teams that are tracking Adams if the Las Vegas Raiders can’t get a deal done with the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints.
“I think there are teams out there lurking like the Pittsburgh Steelers, like the Baltimore Ravens, like the Buffalo Bills waiting the see if the Jets or Saints can’t and won’t get a deal done with the Raiders,” Schefter said. “The Raiders have been adamant that they get back at least a second-round draft pick and then some. But in this market, there has not been a team that is willing to step up.”
If the Raiders trade Adams, they at least want a second-round draft pick in return. But Schefter said it’s likely not going to happen because of the wide receiver’s contract situation.
“If you are any team that we mentioned and you can get Davante Adams for three and a four or a four and a five, whatever combination of picks it may be, you may say you know what, I don’t care if he’s got $36 (million) guaranteed next year and we might have to cut him and he might not be willing to redo the deal because you’re only giving up a four. So if he walks, we’ll give him his freedom, and he’ll go at that point in time. You’re not going to get back a comp pick because you have to cut him. But if the price is low enough for the Raiders, you might say so what?”

Adam Schefter shares more on Davante Adams trade rumors
The biggest question regarding Adams being traded is when will it happen. Schefter said it likely won’t happen this week since it’s too late, but it also depends and what Raiders owner Mark Davis wants to do.
“It could be any time, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be this week,” Schefter said. … “But really it comes down to Mark Davis, the Raiders owner, be willing to accept that he’s not going to get back what the New York Jets were willing to offer a year ago at the trade deadline when they might have given up two second-round draft picks, and the Raiders held on to them at that point in time.”
Adams has been with the Raiders since 2022 after spending his first eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers. In his career, Adams has been named to the All-Pro First Team three times and selected to the Pro Bowl six times.
