Davante Adams trade rumors: Raiders WR drops hint at preferred trade destination
Davante Adams has been all the rage in the NFL this week, after the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver officially requested a trade from the franchise.
It’s been reported that Adams would prefer to play with one of his former quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr, which would mean he’d end up with either the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints. The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers have also been reportedly to be interested in the wide receiver, but Adams might’ve just thrown a wrench into all of their plans.
Adams took to social media to share a photo of poet Edgar Allan Poe, who is of course associated with Baltimore and the Ravens franchise. Is it a sign of things to come, or wishful thinking from Adams? Those questions will certainly be answered. Check out the post below.
If Baltimore can pull off the deal, Adams would be a nice piece to add to the Ravens offense. The wide receiver is in his third season with the Raiders after coming over via trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2022.
He originally signed a five-year, $140 million extension with Las Vegas and still has three years remaining. He did not suit up against the Browns, as he dealt with a hamstring injury in Week 4.

After the photo made it’s rounds, Adams made another post on his Instagram story featuring Poe, this time a quote: “Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see,” so it remains to be seen if Adams was simply being cryptic, or if he truly does prefer Baltimore.
Questions about Adams’ future in Vegas further grew after head coach Antonio Pierce appeared to “like” an Instagram post. It included a screenshot of a post from Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano telling fans not to be surprised if Adams played his last snap with the Raiders.
Through three games this season, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown after an up-and-down 2023 season. He turned in his lowest production since 2019, totaling 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns as the Raiders struggled.
Moving forward, it’ll be fascinating to see if the Raiders do in fact strike a deal to send the wide receiver packing, and if Davante Adams can rekindle his past success with a different team. Evidently, the situation in Las Vegas has become volatile, and it’s time for the two parties to end their relationship, and give the wide receiver a fresh start.
