Dave Portnoy has placed a $1 million bet on the Buffalo Bills to win Super Bowl LIX. The Barstool Sports founder reportedly made the bet on Jan. 19, the same day the Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

“One better [Dave Portnoy] at [DraftKings Sportsbook] wagered $1 million on the Buffalo Bills to win Super Bowl LIX at +550 odds last week, Ben Fawkes of ESPN wrote on X. “Bills currently +255 at DK.”

Patrick Everson of Vegas Insider revealed how much Portnoy would win if the Bills come out on top. He wrote on X, “If the Bills win it all, then the [Barstool Sports] founder pockets $5.5 million in profit..”

Dave Portnoy, who is known for making big bets, must feel like this is the year the Bills get over the hump and win their first Super Bowl. The only issue is the team has to face the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas Chiefs in the AFC Championship on Sunday. The Bills and Chiefs have faced each other in the playoffs four times since 2020, and the Chiefs won all four games.

Buffalo Bills need to take down Kansas City Chiefs to reach Super Bowl

Because of the experience the Bills have against the Chiefs in the postseason, they know what they need to do to have a strong performance. “One, have a good week of practice, making sure that what we’re putting into the game plan, guys are understanding it and going out there and practicing hard,” QB Josh Allen said this week, per the Bills’ official website. “Then when we get on the field on Sunday, just trusting in the game plan, trusting in each other and have fun playing the game.”

“This one will be a little bit different, just from a crowd standpoint, and I’m sure we’ll have a great number of Buffalo people there as well,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott said when asked about the Bills vs. Chiefs AFC Championship game in 2020.

Allen was also asked about the game and said he’s happy the team has another opportunity to reach the Super Bowl. “Every year that you go through in this league, you learn more things about yourself, about your team, about the game of football,” Allen said. “We’re just grateful and humbled to have another opportunity at it. It’s another week that we get to play. There’s only four teams playing right now, so we look at that and we just love the opportunity that we have.”
