Dawand Jones injury update: Kevin Stefanski reveals Browns tackle will undergo surgery
The Cleveland Browns got some bad news after their loss to the New Orleans Saints. Following the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski let fans know that Dawand Jones has a fractured ankle, and he’ll have to undergo surgery. His season is done for the 2024-2025 campaign. That information was relayed by Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Here is the video of the play that he got injured on.
Dawand Jones tips the scales at 6-foot-8, 374-pounds. He’s got an 87 7/8 inch wingspan, and 11 5/8 inch hand span. He’s blessed with a tremendous number of physical tools and his NFL career is still young.
There is still plenty of upside still remaining in his career, despite the injury. However, it’s the second season-ending injury he’s suffered in two seasons with the Browns franchise. He has flashed plenty of promise and potential. Jones just has to stay healthy.
The Browns continue to struggle in the 2024 campaign
The Browns were blown out on Sunday by the New Orleans Saints, 35-14. Even though Cleveland quarterback Jameis Winston managed to complete 30 of his 46 pass attempts for 395 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns, it didn’t matter much.

The Browns defense could find no answer for New Orleans tight end Taysom Hill, who gashed them for 138 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries. He ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run with 2:26 remaining in the fourth quarter. That was pretty much the nail in the coffin.
With the loss, the Browns dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-4 on the road. New Orleans improved to 4-7 overall and 3-3 at home.
