Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly on his way to the Kansas City Chiefs, a trade Hopkins may have hinted at days ago.

Hopkins posted a video on social media last week with the caption “rumor has it,” featuring his family dancing to famous Taylor Swift song “22.”

In addition to being one of the world’s top music artists, Swift is also the boyfriend of Chiefs standout tight end Travis Kelce. Throughout their relationship, Swift has made regular appearances at Chiefs events, including games.

She’s become part of Chiefs lore in this chapter of the franchise’s dynasty.

Kansas City has won three Super Bowls in the last five years, and it’s made a habit of maximizing the talent of receivers, young and old. A big factor in that equation is two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, the best quarterback in the league right now.

Andy Reid, the only head coach in NFL history to win 100 games with two franchises, has a knack for offensive creativity, so he certainly plays a role in that phenomenon, too.

The back-to-back defending champion Chiefs already brought back veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster this year. They signed him in late August, and he notably caught seven passes for 130 yards in a win over the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7.

But Smith-Schuster is currently nursing a hamstring injury, and the Chiefs are bringing another household name into the offense.

Enter, Hopkins, who has reeled in 15 passes for 173 yards and just one touchdown with the reeling Titans this season.

Hopkins, a three-time first-team All-Pro, has seven 1,000-yard receiving seasons to his name. He came closest to reaching a Super Bowl when he was with the Houston Texans. Since he’s spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Titans.

And now he’ll be joining a championship-caliber Chiefs roster — a move that he may have hinted at days ago, through Taylor Swift.
