Deion Sanders predicts Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders will be top two picks in 2025 NFL Draft
Ever since taking over the Colorado job Deion Sanders has been the prince of promotion, able to take just about any opportunity and spin it into positive publicity for his team.
He did just that on the set of ESPN’s First Take on location at the site of this year’s Super Bowl, pointing out Colorado could have a serious NFL Draft haul next season.
“Did I say that we may have the first and second pick of next year’s draft?” Sanders asked the host of the show just before it cut to commercial break. “Did I say that? That plays for Colorado? Did I mention that? OK, I just wanted to mention that.”
Sanders, of course, is referring to his two star players, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way player Travis Hunter. Both made a name for themselves in 2024.
Colorado got off to a hot start to the season, beginning 3-0 before finally tripping up against some ranked competition.
Sanders was the star offensively, posting some monster numbers as he pretty much single-handedly willed Colorado to stay competitive in some of its closer contests. He emerged as a bona fide NFL Draft prospect but will remain in school for another season.
Sanders threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns, while throwing just three interceptions. He also ran for four scores.

But while he keyed the offense, Hunter helped power the defense from his cornerback spot. He racked up 30 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, three interceptions and eight passes defended.
Somehow he was a force despite also being used extensively on the offensive side of the ball.
At receiver, Hunter was equally effective. He finished second on the team in receiving, catching 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns as part of a well-rounded passing attack that put up plenty of points.
Colorado, which suffered from the lack of a consistent running game, managed to be one of the most prolific passing attacks nationally thanks to Sanders and Hunter. The Buffaloes finished ranked No. 16 nationally in passing offense, averaging 294.7 yards per game.
Clearly Deion Sanders is once again expecting big things from his talented duo, touting them as the potential first and second picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
No pressure.
