Deion Sanders would only consider coaching Dallas Cowboys if his kids were with him
The Dallas Cowboys won’t be making a change at quarterback. That’s a choice that is going to be hotly debated, with many going so far as to suggest that the Cowboys should have hired someone like Bill Belichick or Deion Sanders.
In the case of Sanders, at least, he heard those calls for him to go to Dallas. However, he’s not interested in going unless his kids could go there with him.
“You need to give up on it,” Deion Sanders said on RG3 and The Ones. “The only scenario you could come up with right now is to throw my kids in. That’s the only thing you can do, and I know that’s where you were going because I know you.”
Deion Sanders, currently, is the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. There, his sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders are playing for him after previously playing for him at Jackson State.
“I’m not talking about one of the kids, I’m talking about both of the kids. No, no, no. I ain’t doing that…No, that’s not in our plan. We’ve always had a plan and we’ve executed the plan, 100 percent. So, don’t use my kids to get me.”

Certainly, it doesn’t sound like the Cowboys are in Deion Sanders’ future. However, it does make some sense why there are people out there who want to see him coach there. As a player, arguably the greatest defensive back of all time, Sanders dominated and he did so as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He has plenty of connections in Texas, and now he’s making his way in coaching.
For now, at least, Sanders is staying focused on Colorado.
Robert Griffin III calls for Cowboys to hire Deion Sanders
Following the Dallas Cowboys’ upset loss in the playoffs, former NFL quarterback and current analyst Robert Griffin III called for Dallas to fire Mike McCarthy and hire Deion Sanders.
“The bottom line is, guys, I hate calling for coaches jobs. It’s just not what I do. But it’s got to be the coach. You’ve had three consecutive 12-win seasons, nothing to show for it. It’s been 28 years since you’ve won a conference championship or Super Bowl,” Griffin said.
“A lot of people will say you should go get Bill Belichick. Because we all know that Mike McCarthy’s stuff was packed before this game, his office, empty. He gone. But I know who you need. you need Coach Prime. Deion Sanders. Coach Prime. He knows what it takes to win in Dallas. He knows what it takes to have a championship mindset. Holds guys accountable and he is a culture changer… Coach Prime is also going to bring you the quarterback of the future – Shedeur Sanders.”
