DeMarcus Lawrence injury: Update emerges on timeline for Cowboys DE
Dallas Cowboys (2-2) defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a foot injury in Thursday’s 20-15 Week 4 win over the New York Giants (1-3), per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Lawrence limped off the field during the third quarter. He then made his way to the locker room to get an X-ray, which came back negative. Lawrence didn’t appear to be too overly concerned about the injury.
“I’ll be back in no time,” Lawrence said after the game.
He added: “Sh*t hurts, but it’ll be all right.”
Given Pelissero’s timeline, however, it looks like Lawrence will miss the Week 5 road tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0), as well as the Week 6 home contest versus the Detroit Lions (2-1). The Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, which will give Lawrence plenty of time to rest and heal up for the second half of the season.
DeMarcus Lawrence, Micah Parsons banged up after Week 4 win over Giants
Unfortunately for Dallas, Lawrence isn’t the only key defensive piece they could be without against Pittsburgh and Detroit. Star linebacker Micah Parsons was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain Friday and his status going forward is to be determined.

Parsons initially underwent X-rays on his left ankle which were negative. He sustained the injury in the fourth quarter after Giants offensive lineman Greg Van Roten fell on his leg while he was rushing the passer. Parsons had to be carted off the field and was seen walking gingerly when the team arrived back in Dallas Friday morning.
“Right now, I just iced it,” Parsons said. “I know very little. I’ve got an MRI [Friday], and I’m going to try to get back next week.”
Parsons was relatively held in check by New York’s offensive line, tallying just two tackles and zero quarterback hits. Lawrence, meanwhile, recorded the Cowboys’ only sack.
