Demarcus Robinson agrees to new one-year deal with L.A. Rams

Former Florida Gators star Demarcus Robinson has agreed to a new one-year deal that will keep him with the L.A. Rams next season. According to Mike Florio, the deal will pay Robinson $4 million and includes $1 million in incentives. Plus, the contract stipulates a $1.5 million signing bonus, which pays out at the end of April. It’s a significant increase for the seventh-year veteran after he signed a one-year deal for $1.165 million last offseason.

Prior to his move to the Rams, Robinson caught 48 passes for 458 yards and two touchdowns in 2022 for the Ravens. This season, he played 16 games for the Rams, finishing fifth on the team in receiving yards. He ended the season with 26 catches, 371 yards and four touchdowns, which tied his career high. Robinson also contributed three catches for 44 yards in the Rams’ playoff loss to the Lions.

Robinson was originally drafted in 2016 by the Kansas City Chiefs. He played there for six seasons before signing with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2022 season. Robinson won a Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs to cap the 2019 season.

He played in 97 games for the Chiefs, starting 42. He caught 145 passes for 1679 yards and 14 scores. His single season in Baltimore was less prolific, as Robinson played in the more run-centric offense — and then quarterback Lamar Jackson got hurt.

In three seasons at Florida from 2013-15, Robinson had 105 catches for 1353 yards and nine touchdowns. The Chiefs selected him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 126th overall pick.

Robinson sues L.A. hotel after armed robbery incident

Robinson is currently suing a hotel for negligence after an incident in October that resulted in a loss of almost $150,000. According to documents acquired by TMZ, Robinson is claiming that he was held up at gunpoint by two masked men at the Lexen Hotel in North Hollywood at around midnight on Oct. 20, 2023.

The 29-year-old wideout alleges that he entered the Lexen Hotel via a side entrance after pulling into the parking garage. Once he entered the building and walked toward the lobby, two masked men pulled guns on him and allegedly threatened to murder him.

In the lawsuit, Robinson claims the two men took nearly $150,000 worth of stuff off of his person during the holdup. The Rams star wasn’t carrying loads of cash but he did have a luxury diamond watch and two diamond chains.

The grounds for Robinson’s lawsuit stem from his claims that the hotel didn’t have security guards outside the hotel or in the lobby. He also says that employees at the front desk at the time didn’t call authorities until after the suspects had already fled the area. Due to his losses, Robinson is requesting at least $149,500 in damages, plus punitive damages, from the Lexen Hotel for the negligence.
