DeMarvion Overshown injury: Cowboys LB suffers knee injury on MNF vs. Bengals
Dallas Cowboys (5-7) linebacker DeMarvion Overshown had to be helped off the field after suffering a knee injury in the fourth quarter of Monday’s Week 14 home contest against the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8).
Overshown, immediately taken to the X-ray room for examination, has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The injury occurred as Overshown was attempting to make a tackle on Bengals running back Chase Brown. As Overshown engaged with guard Alex Cappa, another Bengals offensive lineman fell on his right leg.
DeMarvion Overshown a bright spot on Cowboys’ defense in 2024
Overshown, the 2023 third-round pick out of Texas, missed his entire rookie season after sustaining a torn ACL in his left knee during the preseason. The 24-year-old made a full recovery and has been a bright spot on the Cowboys’ defense this season. Entering Monday, Overshown had tallied 84 tackles (52 solo), eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one pick six and a forced fumble.

Overshown is the third Cowboy to record at least five sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the same season, joining DeMarcus Ware (2006) and Greg Ellis (1999), per Todd Archer of ESPN.
“We’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg really,” head coach Mike McCarthy recently said. “I’m so impressed with him, and in his consistency, in his approach, and that’s just going to keep putting him in the position to progress. Frankly, we need to give him more opportunities because he obviously can make plays from the edge also.”
