DeMarvion Overshown injury update: Cowboys LB gets new return timeline after surgery, per report

Dallas Cowboys (6-8) linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee, could return by mid-to-late next season, per Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports.
Overshown was previously thought to be sidelined through the entirety of the 2025 season, as team owner Jerry Jones said last Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan.
Overshown’s injury occurred in the 27-20 Week 14 home defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals (6-8) as he was attempting to make a tackle on Bengals running back Chase Brown. As Overshown engaged with guard Alex Cappa, another Bengals offensive lineman fell on his right leg. Overshown, who needed assistance to get off the field, was immediately taken to the X-ray room for examination.
“I think that’s fair,” head coach Mike McCarthy said of the possibility of Overshown missing all of next season. “Because of time of year, obviously we’re in December. You have the surgery, and the rehab is a long process. That’s very realistic.”

DeMarvion Overshown receives encouraging news on recovery timeline
Overshown, the 2023 third-round pick out of Texas, missed his entire rookie season after sustaining a torn ACL in his left knee during the preseason. The 24-year-old made a full recovery and was a bright spot on the Cowboys’ defense this season. Overshown tallied 90 tackles (56 solo), eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one pick six and a forced fumble.
Overshown is the third Cowboy to record at least five sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the same season, joining DeMarcus Ware (2006) and Greg Ellis (1999), per Todd Archer of ESPN.
Fellow linebacker Micah Parsons was emotional talking about Overshown’s injury after the game.
“I cried,” Parsons said. “That’s like my little bro, bro. He don’t deserve that either, he really don’t. So, just understand what he’s going to go through and to be there for him physically and mentally is so challenging because he’s so talented. The year he was having — I just don’t think that’s fair either.”
