DeMarvion Overshown injury update: MRI reveals torn ACL for Dallas Cowboys defender
Dallas Cowboys (5-8) linebacker DeMarvion Overshown tore the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee, an MRI confirmed, per Todd Archer of ESPN.
Overshow, who will undergo surgery this week, could be sidelined for the entirety of the 2025 season, team owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan. Overshown’s injury occurred in Monday’s 27-20 Week 14 home defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals (5-8) as Overshown was attempting to make a tackle on Bengals running back Chase Brown. As Overshown engaged with guard Alex Cappa, another Bengals offensive lineman fell on his right leg. Overshown, who needed assistance to get off the field, was immediately taken to the X-ray room for examination.
Head coach Mike McCarthy expressed concern for Overshown’s injury after the game.
“It’s of serious nature I’m told, that’s really all I know,” McCarthy said. “It didn’t look good.”
DeMarvion Overshown suffers another significant knee injury
Overshown, the 2023 third-round pick out of Texas, missed his entire rookie season after sustaining a torn ACL in his left knee during the preseason. The 24-year-old made a full recovery and was a bright spot on the Cowboys’ defense this season. Overshown tallied 90 tackles (56 solo), eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one pick six and a forced fumble.

Overshown is the third Cowboy to record at least five sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the same season, joining DeMarcus Ware (2006) and Greg Ellis (1999), per Todd Archer of ESPN.
Fellow linebacker Micah Parsons was emotional talking about Overshown’s injury after the game.
“I cried,” Parsons said. “That’s like my little bro, bro. He don’t deserve that either, he really don’t. So, just understand what he’s going to go through and to be there for him physically and mentally is so challenging because he’s so talented. The year he was having — I just don’t think that’s fair either.”
