DeMarvion Overshown leaves Cowboys preseason game with apparent knee injury
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was a preseason game No. 1 standout for Dallas. The Cowboys drafted the Texas product with high hopes and early on, the linebacker was delivering. Saturday was going to be another chance to check him out against the Seattle Seahawks.
However, a scary moment occurred early in the first quarter. When making a tackle along the sidelines, Overshown was able to make the play but stayed on the ground. He instantly grabbed for his knee while trainers rushed out to check up on him.
The Cowboys broadcast later revealed Overshown left the game but was able to do so under his own power. He was later shown being carted back into the locker room. A potentially positive sign without having too much information.

Overshown would have been getting crucial reps had the injury not occurred. Seattle has sent out their starting offensive players, at least for the first couple of drives. Dallas coaches would have known how the linebacker performs against a team vying for a playoff spot.
In the first preseason game against the Jaguars, Overshown recorded a total of six tackles. Two of them were solo while getting an assistant on the remaining four. The overall performance speaks more than the stat sheet though, with Overshown really impressing everyone involved with the Cowboys.

Unfortunately, it looks like his second preseason game will be cut short. The Dallas coaches and front office will be hoping the injury is not too serious and seeing him leave the game is nothing more than precautionary.
More on DeMarvion Overshown
A native of Arp, TX, Overshown has played his entire football life in the Lone Star State. However, finding the perfect position for him has been difficult. Originally, Tom Herman recruited Overshown as a defensive back, playing a role in the safety room.
Overshown then made a move to linebacker after adding more to his frame. He was able to make a bigger impact with the linebackers and turned himself into an NFL-caliber player.
There will be a spot on the Cowboys for Overshown, no matter the situation with his injury. Linebacker is a place where the Cowboys can offer opportunities, especially for someone as athletic as Overshown. Hopefully, the initial report on his health comes back positive and the linebacker can continue to impress early in his rookie season.
