DeMarvion Overshown leaves Cowboys practice with apparent hip issue
A few injuries have begun to pile up for the Dallas Cowboys at training camp, with linebacker DeMarvion Overshown being the latest.
Overshown was checked out by the Cowboys training staff during practice on Wednesday, having his side looked at. Those on the scene speculated it may be a hip issue. For now, Overshown has not gone into the medical tent but does not have his helmet on nor returned to the field.
“Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown had his side checked out by the training staff a moment ago,” Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com said via X. “Seems to be a hip issue. He hasn’t gone to the medical tent but he put his helmet down and hasn’t returned to the field.”
Dealing with injuries is nothing new for Overshown. In the first preseason game from last year, the linebacker tore his ACL, keeping him out for all of 2023. Working his way back was a huge accomplishment and Overshown is expected to contribute in a big way this season.
Training camp has allowed Overshown to ramp back up before playing in Sunday’s preseason game against Los Angeles. There, he was able to record three tackles for an overall nice day.

Now, there is something for the Cowboys training staff to be on the lookout for. No official word on the injury has been announced quite yet. Dallas plays its second preseason game of the year on Saturday in Las Vegas, facing the Raiders.
Dak Prescott returns to Cowboys practice
Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott was able to return to practice on Tuesday after sitting out Friday with ankle soreness. Due to his lingering ankle soreness, which he’s dealt with since his gruesome injury in 2021, Prescott got a bit of extra time off last week. The team was already planning to sit him for the first preseason game of the year against the Rams, and the ankle gave them even more of a reason to keep their QB1 in bubble wrap.
Tuesday’s practice is a walkthrough for Dallas before the team welcomes the Rams back for another joint practice this week. The two teams will scrimmage again after LA settled the score in the preseason game 13-12 behind the effort of Rams backup QB Stetson Bennett.
Back in pads on Wednesday, Prescott will be a full participant, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
