DeMarvion Overshown switching numbers, will become first Cowboy to wear No. 0

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown will be sporting a different number the next time he takes the field. Overshown is changing his 2025 jersey number to No. 0, becoming the first player in franchise history to wear it.
Overshown wore No. 13 for his first two seasons in the NFL. Now, it’s “Agent 0” for the promising young player.
“As soon as they changed the policy where you can now wear No. 0 in the NFL, I just knew it was meant to be,” Overshown told Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “Being the first one to wear it at Texas, growing up a Longhorn and a Cowboy in the great state of Texas — I wear it as a badge of honor. It’s not too many people that get to say they’re the first to do anything, and to say I’m the first wear No. 0 at Texas and the first to do it in Dallas Cowboys’ history, that’s a badge of honor.”
No. 0 feels right for the 24-year-old. It’s the same number he wore at Texas and with the NFL changing its number policy in 2023, players such as Overshown can now wear No. 0. Other notable players around the league wearing the number include Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith, Buffalo Bills receiver Keon Coleman and New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
“It’s just like when Superman put on his cape, when I put that No. 0 on, it’s really Agent 0 out there,” Overshown said.

DeMarvion Overshown recovering from major knee injury
It’s unclear when Overshown will return to in-game action. He suffered a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee during the Week 14 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. Overshown missed his entire rookie season after sustaining a torn ACL in his left knee during the preseason.
He made a full recovery and was a bright spot on the Cowboys’ defense this past season. Overshown tallied 90 tackles (56 solo), eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one pick six and a forced fumble. Overshown became the third Cowboy to record at least five sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the same season, joining DeMarcus Ware (2006) and Greg Ellis (1999).
“I’ll be back playing football for sure in 2025, and it won’t be in December,” Overshown said in January. “It will be before that.”
