After almost two weeks of contention, Denny Hamlin has apparently reached out and gotten Kyle Larson a couple of gifts as a sign of apology. An “olive branch” as the NASCAR driver put it on the latest episode of his Action Detrimental podcast. Hamlin and Larson had a little run-in at Pocono that has been all the talk for more than a week now.

It turns out that today is Kyle Larson’s 31st birthday. while Denny Hamlin admitted he didn’t know that, he did get Larson a gift recently. In fact, it was a couple of things. Hamlin is a Jordan Brand athlete and as a co-owner with the man himself at 23XI, he gets to go to all kinds of cool places.

One place Hamlin gets to go is Grove XXIII, otherwise known as The Grove. Michael Jordan’s very own golf course.

“I got him a pair of shoes from The Grove from this past week and I got him the new Grove, Jordan ball marker and I delivered it before media this week,” Hamlin said on his podcast. “I didn’t realize it was a birthday present. It was more of an olive branch, of sorry and here you go. Because usually when I go to The Grove, for those that don’t know that’s [Michael] Jordan’s golf course he owns in Florida. There’s exclusive apparel there that you can’t get anywhere else it might be shoes, golf shoes, might be shirts, whatever. And usually, I get a request from ‘the buddies’ to pick up a few things from there. So, I didn’t take uh – they didn’t ask for me to get them something but I just thought I’d be a friend and get them some stuff.”

Now that’s a nice friend, isn’t it folks?

Denny Hamlin doesn’t want to ‘linger’ on Pocono

Despite all of the drama that the race produced, Denny Hamlin doesn’t want to think about Pocono anymore. He has talked to Kyle Larson, the two texted about it, they raced at Richmond, Larson bumped Hamlin, and now the olive branch has been extended.

While we might see some tough racing between the two in the future, that doesn’t change much. Hamlin and Larson will remain friends off the track and try their best to play nice on Sundays.

After Richmond, Hamlin finished P2 and was more than ready to move on from the Pocono news.

“Well yeah, I think that no matter who is upfront they’re going to push some guys wide,” Hamlin said, via Matt Weaver. “At the point where I went to the outside of the 17 in turn three, moved up the race track. That is just – that’s racing guys, we gotta understand. I know we want to linger on it but this has been happening for a long, long time. Nothing new.”

Do you think this is the last time we hear about Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin getting into it with one another? Or will we see more from this frenemy duo?
