Denny Hamlin criticizes Joey Logano for Talladega radio rant at Austin Cindric

Joey Logano was not happy with Team Penske teammate Austin Cindric during Sunday’s Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Logano didn’t appreciate Cindric checking up on the frontstretch coming to the end of Stage 2, allowing Bubba Wallace to take the stage win.
The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion lost it on the radio, and Denny Hamlin isn’t sure why. He said on Monday’s “Actions Detrimental” podcast that Logano’s anger towards Cindric was unjustified.
“What is it about these Penske guys that lose their mind? I mean, he just ripped Austin a new one,” Hamlin said. “I’m not saying he was right, but these guys are hot under the collar. … You’re going to the end of a stage, and he lost his mind because the 2 [Cindric] checked up? Like, I think that rant is only warranted if the 2 car pushes the other guy by you, then I think you can say, ‘what the hell, Cindric? Why’d you do that?’
“Then you kind of let it go. But he was just going on and on and he thought it was just a given that he was going to win this thing if Cindric would have done his job properly. Cindric said, ‘I was trying to do my job properly and not wreck your ass.’ I don’t know, man. These guys got some wires crossed when they put that helmet on. It’s wild. I don’t know, maybe my intensity is just not quite where it needs to be. I can’t even imagine getting that wild.”

Joey Logano loses it on teammate Ausin Cindric
Like his teammate Ryan Blaney, Logano can be fiery on the radio. But this was towards another teammate in Cindric, and Logano was fuming.
“Way to go Austin, way to go, you dumb fu*k!” Logano said, via Jeff Gluck of The Athletic. “Way to fu*king go. What a stupid sh*t. You just gave it to him. Gave a Toyota a stage win. Nice job. Way to go. What a dumbass. Put that in the book again.”
Cindric ended up in Victory Lane, scoring a 0.022-second victory over Ryan Preece. Both Preece and Logano, who initially finished fifth, were later disqualified after failing post-race inspection.
