Denny Hamlin reacts to FedEx partnership ending, addresses future sponsorship plans
Denny Hamlin is opening up about FedEx not sponsoring the No. 11 Toyota in 2025. After the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race at Phoenix, Hamlin was asked about his social media post that hinted at FedEx leaving at the end of the year.
“Yeah, just can’t thank them enough for 19 years,” Hamlin said, per Frontstretch. “It’s been such a great relationship. You’d say at the very beginning would you take 19 years in a row with the presence they’ve had? Absolutely. They’ve been part of my racing career, the whole thing in Cup. Really happy to be able to represent them and all their employees.”
Hamlin was then asked about the sponsorship for his car next year and beyond. “It’s a work in progress. Certainly, the [Joe] Gibbs team is working really hard, Hamlin replied. “We’ve got some good talks going on, but we’ll see what goes on next year. Obviously, we got some great partners that have been with the team for quite some time now that you’ll see some presence with.”
FedEx won’t be on the No. 11 Toyota in 2025, but Hamlin will continue to have a relationship with the company. “I’ll always have a relationship with FedEx and really the executives there,” he said. “They’ve just been so good to me over the years and my family and this team, so absolutely. I’ll still bleed purple.”

Denny Hamlin sends message to FedEx after long partnership
Per Newsweek, FedEx has been partners with Hamlin since 2005. The company is pulling back from long-term sports sponsorships and made the shift in 2021, reducing its sponsorship presence on Hamlin’s car to 10-12 races yearly.
“Thank you, FedEx, for being there from the start,” Hamlin said in video he posted on social media. At all the wins and all the losses. Thank you, FedEx, for letting me be me, for always making a difference, for helping make this kid from Virginia’s dreams come true. Thank you, FedEx, for everything.”
FedEx went to social media to send a message to Hamlin. “What a ride it’s been! Denny and the entire Joe Gibbs team, it’s been an incredible 20 years of racing with the best. #TeamFedEx will always be cheering you on,” FedEx wrote.
