Reflecting on the NASCAR Chicago Street Race one last time, Denny Hamlin felt that a lot of 23XI Racing’s biggest sponsors had a major role in the event. Not only that, it was relatively a success as far as the racing product itself was concerned. While everyone would have liked the concerts to have happened, historic rains in the city had something to say about that.

Denny Hamlin isn’t wrong, though. 23XI Racing has major sponsorship from McDonald’s which was a partner of the Chicago Street Race weekend. Xfinity, who sponsored Tyler Reddick’s car this season, was also a major sponsor as they continue to be one of NASCAR’s best partners.

Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports asked Hamlin about the race from the sponsor standpoint. Everyone involved was happy with the weekend as a whole.

“I’m not really sure it’s probably a better question for NASCAR but obviously I’d say the teams and drives would all say it was a success. I think NASCAR would also view it as a success. I think there’s probably a lot of things that they learned from it that they would improve on but that’s part of the process.”

As far as those partners are concerned, Hamlin thinks that they were also pleased with the weekend.

“Yeah I mean if you look at the key partners they had for that race, McDonald’s, Bluecross, Xfinity, those are all 23XI partners so they were obviously heavily invested in the success of it and I think they were happy.”

Sounds like Denny Hamlin has a bunch of happy sponsors, doesn’t it? They’ll be even happier if that Chicago race happens again, this time with some good weather maybe.

Denny Hamlin looking for a win in Atlanta

With his win at Kansas, Denny Hamlin doesn’t have to worry about the playoffs. He also sits comfortably in the points race in case there are more than 16 winners by the time the postseason rolls around. Hamlin is set to go at Atlanta, but it might be a Ford party under the lights.

After the first round of qualifying it was clear, Ford was the one to beat. Eight of the ten best cars in qualifying were Ford. It was a dominating performance. Only Ty Gibbs and Kyle Larson broke up the blue ovals. So, it is going to be hard for anyone not in a Mustang in this race it seems.

For Denny Hamlin, the hope is that your team can fix your car up. If they can’t do much to it, maybe the nighttime will flip the track and those Toyotas will find a groove to race on. This is going to be an interesting race as drivers have talked about the track aging in a good way.

Could we be in store for a competitive race? The night always spices things up and this might be the most superspeedway-style race we’ve seen at Atlanta. Look for big wrecks and more tonight. Hamlin is in a great Coca-Cola paint scheme and is ready to roll.
