Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon parties in streets with fans after winning NBA title
Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon wasted no time celebrating the team’s NBA Championship win on Monday night in the streets of Denver.
Up 3-1 in the series, the Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 94-89 in front of their home crowd at Ball Arena, delivering the team’s first NBA title in the franchise’s 56-year history.
Breaking the organization’s long-standing championship drought is definitely worthy of a celebration, which Gordon more than understood as he was seen celebrating in downtown Denver shortly after the game. Gordon appeared to still be in his uniform, wearing all of his game attire except for his jersey as he celebrated shirtless in the streets with a mob of Nuggets fans.
A crowd behind Gordon quickly turned into a crowd surrounding him when he started walking across the street, as Gordon jumped up and down in the middle of a crosswalk to start a mosh pit in the middle of the road.
Gordon definitely helped create a special and exciting moment that nearby fans will likely never forget, but he also had his fair share of memorable moments during Denver’s playoff run.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
He scored just four points in Denver’s Game 5 win adding 7 rebounds, a pair of steals, and a block to his stat line. But in Game 4, Gordon delivered his biggest contribution of the playoffs. On the road in Miami, Gordon led the Nuggets in scoring for the first time in the playoffs with 27 points on an efficient 73.3% field goal percentage. He buried three of his four three-point attempts, also grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.
This was Gordon’s third season with the Nuggets, as he was traded to Denver from the Orlando Magic in March of 2021 along with Gary Clark in exchange for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a future first-round pick. This season was Gordon’s best with Denver, averaging 16.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game on their way to an NBA title.
The Magic drafted Gordon with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Arizona. He spent seven seasons with Orlando, mainly known for his trademark high-flying dunks. He definitely provided some of those similar highlight plays in Denver, but also came into his own as a defender, becoming one of the Nuggets’ most valuable role players and a key piece to this year’s championship team.
