Denver police officer hit by firetruck carrying Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray during Nuggets parade

A firetruck carrying Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and several other members of the Denver Nuggets hit and hurt a Denver police officer during the Nuggets NBA championship victory parade on Thursday. According to a report from 9NEWS in Denver, the officer who was hit suffered severe injuries.
Jokic, Murray and the rest of the Nuggets organization members on the firetruck moved to a separate vehicle to continue on the parade route. Multiple other officers and first responders were providing first aid to the officer hit by the firetruck, who was reportedly conscious and moving.
The officer has since been taken to the hospital for further treatment and the firetruck has been cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape, as an investigation seems imminent.

A video shared by 9NEWS, taken by a fan along the parade route, shows the immediate aftermath as first responders arrive at the officer who got hit.
Apparently, shortly before the officer got hit by the firetruck, fans pushed through the barriers and got right up against the truck, creating a boxed-in scenario for the various police officers escorting it along the route.
