Derrick Lewis ends UFC match in under a minute

Derrick Lewis made sure that UFC fans would not forget his memorable performance on Saturday night in UFC291. He TKOd Marcos Rogerio De Lima after just 33 seconds of work. Once he knocked him to the ground, Lewis pummeled Rogerio De Lima with a furious series of fists from both sides, causing the referee to slide in and stop the fight. Lewis delivered a flying knee knockout at the beginning of the fight that will certainly rank it among some of the more legendary knockouts in UFC history.

It was quick work for Lewis. Social media was set ablaze by the flying knee on Saturday night. As it should have been. It’s a difficult maneuver to pull off and Lewis executed it right at the beginning of a fight. With the knockout, Lewis claims sole possession of the UFC record for the most knockouts with 14. He had been previously tied with Matt Brown, but after the epic TKO on Saturday night, he stands alone.

The funny part was after the fight, Joe Rogan asked him if he planned the flying knee. His response? “Hell no.”

Lewis then topped it off with a special celebration

In case fans thought the flying knee was enough entertainment, Lewis upped the ante by taking off his pants and then proceeded to do the D-X crotch chop in the octagon. Check that out below.

You’ve gotta give Lewis all the credit in the world. The man is an entertainer to the highest degree. In case he already wasn’t already beloved by UFC fans, his status reached even higher levels on Saturday night.

He’s nicknamed, “The Black Beast” for a reason and he showed everyone why. With a performance like that one, it’s easy to see why following his interview, UFC commentator Joe Rogan called him one of the most exciting fighters in the history of the sport.

And while Lewis’ performance was certainly legendary, it was just one of the highlights of an unforgettable card for UFC291 on Saturday night.

UFC 291 was an amazing card for fight fans

To finish off the night on Saturday, Justin Gaethje put Dustin Poirier to sleep with an epic head kick. After the knockout finished the fight, Gaethje proceeded to climb to the top of the cage and do a backflip back into the ring. It was a ridiculously impressive display of athleticism.

The devastating head kick immediately sent Porier to the canvas and brought the crowd in attendance to their feet.

What a legendary kick by Gaethje. It certainly set social media ablaze as well. It was a huge night for fight fans and one that will be tough to top. It simply doesn’t get much better than that. That’s the way to give the people what they want!
