Former North Carolina standout Antoine Green scores 70-yard TD in NFL preseason game
It’s the final NFL preseason game in the truncated preseason, the last chance for many players to make their case to be on the final roster. And former North Carolina receiver Antoine Green is certainly making a compelling case.
The seventh-round draft pick has shown off a nice rapport with Detroit Lions quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and hit pay dirt on a huge play just before halftime of a game against the Carolina Panthers.
Bridgewater dropped back to throw and managed to find Green on a deep crossing route over the middle of the field in front of three defenders. Green snagged the pass then turned on the burners to take it to the house for a 70-yard touchdown.
You can check out the entire play below.
Green is trying to earn his way onto the roster in Detroit after the Lions selected him as the No. 219 overall pick in this year’s draft, in the seventh round.
It’s tough for seventh-rounders to make 53-man rosters, so Green’s big play was massive for him. He also caught a 15-yard pass for a first down just before the half.

The former North Carolina standout is simply picking up right where he left off in college, where he was a star, particularly benefiting from the emergence of star redshirt freshman quarterback Drake Maye in 2022.
During that 2022 campaign as a senior, Green logged 43 catches for 798 yards and seven touchdowns. It was his most productive season in college, though it certainly wasn’t his only one.
Antoine Green logged 90 career catches in five years, going for 1,710 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
He was named a third-team All-ACC selection in 2022 during his senior season. He earned ACC Wide Receiver of the Week honors after going for 10 catches, 180 yards and two touchdowns in a game against Pittsburgh in late October.
