Detroit Pistons-Minnesota Timberwolves brawl spills into crowd, results in 7 ejections

We saw a massive fight break out in the Minnesota Timberwolves-Detroit Pistons game on Sunday night. It actually spilled into the crowd in the front row, and even resulted in seven players getting tossed from the game. Donte DiVincenzo, Naz Reid, Ron Holland, Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser, Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and Timberwolves assistant Pablo Prigioni were all shown the exit early on Sunday.
The fight appeared to be started at the other end of the floor, when Donte DiVincenzo yelled at Isaiah Stewart after missing an open floater. Stewart then pushed DiVincenzo after a foul on defense and he also pushed Rudy Gobert.
That’s when the Timberwolves Naz Reid went up for a layup at the other end, which drew a hard foul from the Pistons’ Ronald Holland II. Reid didn’t appreciate it and almost immediately began exchanging words with Holland. DiVincenzo got in the middle of it. He and Holland immediately started to wrestle, sparking off the brawl below.
There were 12 technical fouls handed out in Sunday night’s Timberwolves-Pistons game. That’s the most combined technical fouls in an NBA game since the Mavericks and Warriors also combined for 12 on March 23rd, 2005. That stat was relayed on Sunday evening by OptaSTATS.
