Devonta Smith injury update: Eagles WR’s status revealed ahead of Ravens game
The Philadelphia Eagles (9-2) will be without receiver DeVonta Smith for Sunday’s Week 13 road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens (8-4).
Smith (hamstring) was listed on the inactive report and will miss his second consecutive game as a result. The 26-year-old went through a pregame workout, but Philadelphia ultimately decided to air on the side of caution.
Smith is the Eagles’ second leading receiver despite playing in just nine games. He has hauled in a team-leading 41 receptions for 516 yards and four touchdowns. Smith previously said he was unsure about suiting up against Baltimore.
“I don’t know yet. It’s still not my decision,” Smith said Friday.
Eagles without DeVonta Smith for big-time matchup vs. Ravens
Without Smith in the lineup, receiver A.J. Brown and running back Saquon Barkley could be in store for big days against Baltimore’s suspect defense. Of course, stopping two-time MVP Lamar Jackson will be critical, though Philadelphia does come into Sunday’s game with the league’s No. 1 ranked defense.

The Eagles are excited about the challenge in front of them.
“Any time you play a quarterback like Lamar and, really, there is no quarterback like Lamar, it’s the mobility aspect,” linebacker Nakobe Dean said earlier this week, via the team’s official website. “His ability to run and to elude and to escape and the things he does, it just hasn’t been seen in this league.
“Man, you get excited about a game like this. You play football and you want to go against the best in the world and you’re talking about the No. 1 offense in the NFL, in the world, right now. You get excited about games like this. Want to play in games like this. You want to play against the best. I’m excited for this opportunity to go out there and play the game that we love.”
