The Washington Commanders have made an improbable turnaround in their first year under head coach Dan Quinn and their dynamic signal-caller, Jayden Daniels. On Sunday night, Daniels was able to guide the Commanders to a playoff victory on the road against Tampa Bay, with a game-winning kick in the final seconds being the difference in the 23-20 victory. Following the historic win for the franchise, former Cowboys star Dez Bryant made sure to light into his former team on Twitter.

“Dan Quinn turned a once-struggling franchise into a playoff contender and won his first playoff game…Until Dallas focuses on winning instead of politics..Cowboy fans should not expect success soon…I’m telling you this straightforwardly.., just as I always do,” Bryant tweeted.

It should be noted that this was not Dan Quinn’s first playoff win, but his first playoff win with Washington. His overall record in the playoffs now sits at 4-2. Quinn led the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl in 2016. Dallas finished with a disappointing 7-10 overall record and that ranked them third in the NFC East. The previous three seasons the Cowboys made the playoffs, but were dealt painful early exits each time, with two of those coming in the Wild Card Round and one coming in the Divisional Round.

It has to be painful for Cowboys fans to watch the turnaround of their rivals. Sunday was the first playoff win for the Commanders since 2005, and that one also came against Tampa Bay. Washington will move on to face the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the Detroit Lions, in the NFC Divisional Round.

That one will be played at 8:00 PM EST on Saturday.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 24 of 35 passes for 268 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and no interceptions. As a runner, he had 36 rushing yards, including some clutch runs in the fourth quarter to get in field goal position for the game-winning kick.
