Dez Bryant weighs in on which quarterback the Dallas Cowboys should draft this year
Former Dallas Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant is locked in on 2023 NFL Draft talk, which means he knows his former squad is going after a quarterback this cycle. On Wednesday, Bryant teased his pick for QB sleeper of the draft that he believes could serve as Dak Prescott‘s backup, or even challenge for the NY Jets job.
After shooting down Will Levis and Stetson Bennett, Dez finally came out with it.
“Chase Brice.. I think he’s the biggest sleeper in the draft,” Bryant tweeted. “When you are looking at QBs in today’s game.. Offenses are air raid with a great amount rpo style play. He shares both qualities.. He gets the ball out quick, very smart with the football and gives his playmakers opportunities to make plays down the field.
“I think the knock they’ll try to put on him is the conference he played in but don’t forget App state should have beat North Carolina and they upset Texas A&M.”
The Cowboys would have to give up a lot to get one of the top quarterbacks in the draft like C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young, but Chase Brice is attainable. Dallas has a pick in every round except the sixth at this point.
Brice transferred twice during his collegiate career. He first jumped from Clemson to Duke, then Duke to Appalachian State. At App State, he threw for 3,337 yards in 2021 and 2,921 in 2022 with 54 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

Another name that’s hot on the board for Cowboys fans is Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker. Hooker reportedly met extensively with five teams, including Dallas, in the past few weeks. He suffered a torn ACL in November but he is on track for recovery by training camp.
