DJ Moore is staying in Chicago for the foreseeable future. The Bears are preparing to give him the largest contract in franchise history, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Moore is set to sign a four-year extension worth $110 million, including $82.6 million guaranteed, Schefter said. That means he’ll be under team control until 2029 since he had two years remaining on his original extension. It also solidifies him as part of the Bears’ plans as Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze enter their rookie seasons.

Moore came to Chicago in a 2023 trade with the Carolina Panthers. The Bears sent the No. 1 overall pick to the Panthers in exchange for Moore, a 2023 second-round pick, 2024 first-rounder and a 2025 second-round selection. Chicago turned the 2024 first-round selection into Williams, who was this year’s No. 1 pick. Carolina took Bryce Young atop the 2023 NFL Draft.

Last year, Moore made an immediate impact upon his move to Chicago. He was a top target for Justin Fields as he totaled 1,364 yards – the most by a Bears receiver since Alshon Jeffrey in 2013 – and eight touchdowns. The extension cements Moore as a centerpiece of the offense with a new era starting this season.

He’s also the latest NFC North receiver to receive a lucrative contract this offseason. Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson secured a four-year, $140 million deal, while Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown landed a four-year, $120 million agreement. They were both pending free agents after the 2024 season.

DJ Moore could be looking at another big year in 2024 with Williams under center, and he won’t be alone in the receiver room. The Bears selected Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick in the NFL Draft after a standout career at Washington, and they traded for Keenan Allen to add a veteran presence to the unit, as well. That creates a three-headed monster and perhaps the best situation for a rookie quarterback in history.

It’s safe to say, Moore is ready to take the field with his new quarterback. He spoke highly of Williams after standing firmly in Fields’ corner as Chicago weighed its decision at the position – and the Bears are ready to roll.

“Business is business,” Moore said in May, via CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell. “I seen it coming. So, at the end of the day, he was the quarterback last year, now we got Caleb. We’re gonna ride through H-E-L-L and back with him, so I’m just looking forward to seeing what he put out.”
